Prior to signing on to e-Tran, you will need to have the following items:
~ An application for e-Tran must be on file to set you up as a user. Applications can be obtained by sending us an e-mail or by calling us at 610-820-0145 or 800-800-2311.
Click here to print an application and fax, mail, or return it to either office.
~ An Internet browser that supports Secure Socket Layers (SSL), provides 128-bit encryption, and supports the use of frames and cookies. Check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see if your browser is at the correct level or try to access our site as noted later in this document.
~ A 4 digit PIN. If you are an ART user, you will use the same PIN for e-Tran.
~ An alphanumeric password of up to 10 characters. We will provide the initial password to you upon receipt of your completed application - we encourage you to change it through e-Tran.
Network and Transaction Security
The security of our network requires that all users have an Internet browser that supports Secure Socket Layers (SSL) and 128-bit encryption. SSL and 128-bit encryption protect the electronic messages during your connection. Most recent Internet browsers provide 40-bit encryption in their standard version. Unless you have a browser with 128-bit encryption you will receive an error message and will not be able to use e-Tran.
The PC server that maintains and provides the link between your computer and e-Tran is secured by a firewall. The firewall controls traffic between the Internet and our internal computer network. Only a valid transaction request will be allowed access to our server. In this way we prevent unauthorized access to our network and any private information.
How Do I Know If I'm Ready?
Try to access our e-Tran site from the logo above. If your Internet browser is properly set for 128-bit encryption, you will be able to get to the log on page. If it is not, you will receive a warning message indicating you need a secured browser.
When you are connected to e-Tran, your browser will display an icon, such as a padlock or a key, which indicates that you have a secured connection.
How Do I Obtain the Right Internet Browser?
Internet browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, have 128-bit versions that can be obtained free of charge from the links located at the bottom of our home page. Based upon your PC and modem speed it may take several hours to download a new browser version. Make sure you download the correct strong or 128-bit version for your operating system.
You can click on "Help" from the menu bar and then "About Navigator or Internet Explorer" to determine the version of browser that you are using. In some cases you may need to obtain a more recent browser version to get the 128-bit encryption. Both sites provide very detailed instructions on downloading and installing the browsers.
If your Internet Service Provider, such as America Online (AOL) provides you with an Internet browser bundled with their software, check with them on how to obtain the 128-bit encrypted version. You must have the 32-bit version of the AOL software to access our product.
The following summarizes the most common browser requirements:
AOL version 8 and higher should include an approved version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. You can also use an approved Netscape browser separate from your AOL software if you so choose. Please check to ensure that you are using a supported Internet browser listed in the browser requirements.
*Our product will work with other HTML 3.2 compliant browser versions.
If you experience problems during the download or installation of your browser, please contact your ISP, the browser's support center, or their online help services.
As an added security feature, e-Tran has built-in timers to maintain consistent availability for all members. If you have no activity for 4 minutes or your total session exceeds 30 minutes, you will be logged off our server.
